District 9 - Leslie Sachanowicz

A seasoned attorney of 30 plus years, with experience in a wide range of positions, Sachanowicz, served two stints with the Bexar County district attorney’s civil section and is currently in private practice as a civil attorney with his firm Les Law Group, PLLC. He previously served in legal positions with Campbell & Miller and the San Antonio Federal Credit Union and as general counsel for the Coliseum Advisory Board. He specializes in litigation and mediation, risk mitigation, employment law, contract negotiation and corporate governance.

Sachanowicz has served on the legislative committee of the National Association of Federal Credit Unions, as a chair and vice chair of several committees at the San Antonio Credit Union (now Credit Human), as a board member of the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and as a member and vice chair of the City Year San Antonio board.

After completing his bachelor’s degree from the University of Toronto, Canada, Sachanowicz earned his M.P.A. from Texas State University and his J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law. He also has taught government and law at San Antonio College (SAC) and St. Mary’s University.
